Bill Watterson Calvin and Hobbes Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-30-87 (Universal Press Syndicate, 1987). Original art from this series is about as rare as a talking tiger, or a good Snow Fort! In Heritage Auctions' entire history, we have only sold nine dailies from this series.The comic strip series was only two years old when this specific daily was released, and it was already a fan-favorite of the funny pages! The strip had earned Watterson the Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society in 1986.
Snowmen and Snow Forts were a common recurring source of comedy for the series, and this "indestructible" snow fort is a good example of why. Created in ink on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 3.75". Signed in Panel 3, and personalized and signed again just under the image area. The board is toned from a previous framing and sun exposure, which has slightly changed the hue of some of the ink work to a brownish color. There is a bit of whiteout art correction. In Good condition.
