Description

Art Huhta Dinky Dinkerton, Secret Agent 6 & 7/8 Consecutive Daily Comic Strips Original Art Group of 12 (Jones Syndicate, c. 1943). From the storyline "The Mystery of Maryon Mansion". Rooted in the screwball-cartooning style of the 1920s-1930s, Huhta's Dinky Dinkerton is a little-known but memorably brilliant highlight of its historic genre. Featuring goofy crimebuster Dinkerton and his helper, Sniffy, the concentration of weekday episodes is dated 1-4 through 1-16 (skipping Sunday 1-10). No year is present, but the days match the year 1943. While the leading characters resemble a Holmes-and-Watson combination, the title is a riff on the historic Pinkerton Detective Agency. Ink over graphite on age-toned Bristol board, with image areas of 21.5" x 5.5". Some staining and handling wear. Overall in Very Good condition.
