Description

Alex Raymond Rip Kirby Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-10-54 (King Features Syndicate, 1954). Rip is hot on the trail of another vagrant, letting the lab run prints on a weapon to aid in his investigation. Raymond's use of line is a work of understated genius, reinventing the legacy of rowdy pulp-inflected detectives with a steady, pipe-smoking man rather than a rip-roaring hot head. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 20" x 5.25". Slight toning, corner wear, and blue pencil editorial markings. In Very Good condition.
