Description

Alex Raymond Flash Gordon Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-15-34 (King Features Syndicate, 1934). An early space adventure featuring Flash being knocked over the head by the lovely Aura, unaware that the Lion Men are creeping up behind them! This beauty is one of the earliest Flash Gordon Sunday comic strips that Heritage has ever had the pleasure of offering. Masterfully rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of approximately 25.5" x 20". The strip is toned with rough edges, and a paste-up text correction in Panel 1. There is also production tape, minor pinholes, some tearing in the corner and lower margin, faded editorial marks and notes, and edge and handling wear. Signed by Raymond in the final panel. In Very Good condition.
