Description

Alex Raymond Flash Gordon and Jungle Jim Sunday Comic Strips Original Art Group of 2 (King Features Syndicate, 1935). Although not a matching set, these two strips were published very closely together. The Flash Gordon is dated 9-22-1935, and the Jungle Jim topper is dated 10-6-1935 (just two weeks later). Both are examples of Alex Raymond's lush and fluid inkwork from a prime period for him. Created in ink over graphite on illustration board, and signed in one of the panels. The Flash Gordon has an image area of 25.5" x 20.5", and the Jungle Jim strip has an image area of 25.5" x 12". The two strips are matted together for a mat size of 29" x 40". Toned and in Very Good condition.
