Description
Al Williamson Star Wars Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-26-81 (LA Times Syndicate, 1981). As C-3PO and R2-D2 wait to greet the returning crew of the Millennium Falcon at Rebel headquarters, Darth Vader teaches Admiral Griff to watch his tone when speaking with the Dark Lord of the Sith! This early Williamson Sunday from the "Darth Vader Strikes" storyline also shows Vader in the first panel and Yoda in the "Star Wars Scrapbook" featured panel. Ink and screentone over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 22.5" x 15". Faint toning, stat logo paste-up, pinholes in the panel corners, tape registration marks in the side margins, tearing along a fold crease between the first and second panel tiers that is mended by tape on the back, adhesive staining in the bottom left margin from a missing paste-up, white paint touch-ups and text-paste-up/abrasion correction, with light soiling/staining, creasing, and edge/handling wear.
