Al McWilliams Dateline: Danger! Sunday Comic Strips Original Art Group of 2 (Field Enterprises, 1971/1972). This duo of Dateline: Danger! Sunday strips packs a punch. In the 12-19-1971 installment, Troy and Danny arrive at Tony Youngstown's lodge only to be "welcomed" by Clyde Carnaby, who casually sights Danny Raven through his rifle -- a not-so-subtle jab at racism in the first syndicated strip to feature an African America lead. In the 11-5-1972 Sunday, Heidi Holland and her mother scramble to steer their plane to safety after flooring their dangerous pilot with a fire extinguisher. Two sharp slices of adventure, tension, and social commentary from a groundbreaking series. Ink over graphite on Bristol boards with image areas of 20.25" x 13.75". Light toning, with heavier toning around the edges, staining discolored stat logo paste-up, scored in the gutters between each tier and folded for mailing purposes, plane in opening panel of 11-5 strip is a stat paste-up, pinholes, corner creasing, and handling wear.
