Description

Al Kilgore Bullwinkle Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-21-64 (Bell-McClure Syndicate, 1964). Rocket J. Squirrel, aka Rocky the Flying Squirrel, searches for his missing pal, Bullwinkle J. Moose -- a chance inspiration leads Rocky to the World's Largest Telescope. Surprises await. First-rate wordplay and headlong narrative momentum from master cartoonist Kilgore, taking off on a riff from the teevee-'toons series. (The shared middle initial of Bullwinkle and Rocky is a nod to their creator, Jay Ward.) Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 17" x 4.75". Lightly toned and in Excellent condition.
