Description
Al Jaffee Tall Tales Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-14-59 (New York Herald Tribune, 1959). Already making his mark in MAD Magazine, Al Jaffee influenced the landscape of newspaper comics with his creation of Tall Tales, a comic that stood out due to its unique vertical panel format and often wordless gags. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 2.75" x 10.25". Signed by Jaffee in the bottom left. Slight toning, stat logo and discolored syndicate paste-ups, marginal notes, whiteout corrections, with light staining and handling wear. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
