Description

Al Capp Li'l Abner Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-1-63 (United Feature Syndicate, 1963). Stan Freberg's influence reached far beyond radio and television, and Al Capp celebrated that legacy with this New Year's Day strip spotlighting a clever Father Time gag and Cold War anxieties. Capp gifted the piece to Freberg with a delightfully self-deprecating inscription that speaks volumes about their mutual respect. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 18.75" x 5.5", matted and glass-front framed to to 26.25" x 12.25". Light toning, pinholes in the top corners, whiteout touch-ups, corner creasing, and minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
