    Chester Gould Dick Tracy Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-14-45 (Chicago Tribune, 1945). Gould's episodic story-arcs had readers anxiously awaiting each day's new strips, as the drama continued to build to a climactic finale. After Dick Tracy brings in a badly injured Breathless Mahoney, she tries to make amends with her criminal mother, as Itchy Oliver gets clued in on a financial opportunity. Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 20" x 6". The toned board has slight smudging, tape over the first panel, and a text correction paste-up in Panel 4. In Very Good condition. From the Ray Edw Collection.
