    Description

Chester Gould Dick Tracy Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-28-45 (News Syndicate Co., Inc., 1945). A classic on two levels: Not only does this creepy sequence come from Tracy's famous "Breathless Mahoney" serial, but it also subjects detective Tracy and goofball B.O. Plenty to the dope-like effects of a poisoning. Then, too, Plenty appears here as a villainous sort -- well before Gould would transform the slovenly hillbilly into a comic-relief character. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 20" x 6". Moderate toning, more pronounced at edges. Very Good condition. From the Ray Edw Collection.
