Chester Gould Dick Tracy Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-12-45 (News Syndicate Co., Inc., 1945). Itchy Oliver is a natural-born poster-boy image for eczema -- the murderous rascal stars in this episode, and an injured Tracy appears in Panel 2. Unflinching, confrontational crime-comics horrors from a master of the form. Itchy is a prime example of the grotesque bad-guy types with whom Gould made Dick Tracy the most controversial and attention-grabbing of mass-market comics. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 20" x 15". The toned board shows handling wear, adhesive staining, pasted lettering/art corrections, and a blank space atop Panel 1 (reserved for a typeset title) with glue staining. Very Good condition. From the Ray Edw Collection.
