    Description

Chester Gould Dick Tracy Daily Comic Strip Art dated 6-19-45 (Chicago Tribune, 1945). Va-va-va-voom! Three panels of Breathless Mahoney leave us gasping for air! With Gould's expressionistic manipulation of blacks and whites, he could tell a gripping story in a single strip. There are minor editorial markings and stains in the margins and some unerased pencil lines in the art. The image of Breathless in Panel 3 is an original art paste-up. The ink over graphite on Bristol board image area measures 20" x 6", and is in Very Good condition. From the Ray Edw Collection.
