    Description

Charles Vess Web of Spider-Man #8 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1985). A wonderful portrait from the black-costume era! The cityscape in the background is even more dazzling here in Vess's distinctive color palette -- when it was published, Marvel eliminated a couple of buildings from the background and used more generic colors that took away some of the three-dimensionality of the superb original. Signed at right. Image area is 9.75" x 15". Gouache and ink over graphite on Bristol. At Spider-Man's ankles there are two horizontal slices that do not cut through the board and have tape on the back to reinforce the area. Faint toning spots around borders, pinholes at top margin, tape pull on left edge where the slice is, tape on upper margin of back. Comes with a copy of the comic. Very Good condition.
