Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Converted to Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-28-56 (United Feature Syndicate, 1956). A true Peanuts oddity! This piece was created as a Sunday and slated for 9-16-56. However, it seems that Schulz thought the gag was too long, so he used only panels #3, 4, 7, and 8 to convert this into a daily strip, which ran on 8-28-56 instead. As a result, the logo panel, Panels #1, 2, 5, and 6 are unpublished original art by Charles Schulz, which has rarely (if ever) been seen by his fans! Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 22.5" x 15". After the fact, an unknown party hand-colored the piece with watercolors. They did a very good job with it, we might add. The board was exposed to heat or sunlight at some point, as the lower right margin is discolored and chipping. Overall in Very Good condition.
