Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Comic Strip Snoopy and Lucy Original Art dated 4-10-66 (United Feature Syndicate, 1966). Bleah! Snoopy picks a fight with that hot-head, Lucy Van Pelt. Even that blockhead Charlie Brown can't break them up. Only the call of the food dish is strong enough to break the clinch! Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 22.5" x 15.25". The logo is a printed paste-up, and there is a small staple hole in the top corner. There is a paste-up text correction in one panel, which has been re-affixed and is missing a small piece. A modern recreation has been pasted on top of that. There was some restoration work done to remove overall foxing on the piece, which has put it into an apparent Excellent condition. Also included is some original-owner provided provenance, including the original shipping tube, that shows the Sunday was initially sent from United Feature Syndicate to Charles Schulz's friend, Alan Maver, a sports cartoonist in Pennsylvania. Maver later gave the piece to a young college student, and a letter from Maver that accompanied the strip is included.
