    Description

Charles Schulz Peanuts Sunday Comic Strip Charlie Brown and Friends Original Art dated 8-9-53 (United Feature Syndicate, 1953). An incredible final panel is the highlight of one of the very best Peanuts examples we've ever seen. We believe every single character that had premiered to that point is in the last panel: Shermy, Patty, (baby) Linus, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Schroeder, Violet, and Lucy. Also, this is a very early example (the Sunday feature did not start until 1952). Charlie Brown still looks very young, and Snoopy is still a puppy. Lastly, the gag itself is one that Schulz would return to again and again. All in all, a fantastic strip with some wonderful full figure images of Charlie Brown and the gang! Signed in the last panel, it is crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 22.75" x 15.25". There is slight tanning, and handling and corner wear. The syndicate strip has been painted over with whiteout, and the paste-up paper logo has discolored. Overall in Very Good condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
