Charles Schulz Peanuts Snoopy Daily Comic Strip dated 3-8-66 (United Feature Syndicate, 1966). The year 1966 saw Snoopy interacting with birds a lot -- first, two birds tried to sneak into his doghouse and steal his Van Gogh painting; then, a mama bird builds a nest on Snoopy's stomach, resulting in two young hatchlings. This daily finds the baby birds making their first attempt at flying away from the nest, and ends with the classic Peanuts catch-phrase when things don't work out ("Rats!"). Snoopy's bird pals were popular with readers, and this sequence was a lead-in to the introduction of Woodstock the following year. This daily has an image area of approximately 27" x 5.5", and is framed with glass for an overall 30" x 8". The strip is signed "Best Wishes -- Charles M. Schulz" in blue ink. A signed letter and envelope on Schulz stationery is included. There are two small brown stains along the lower border of the third panel; otherwise, the strip ins in Excellent condition.
