Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-16-69 (United Feature Syndicate, 1969). Looks like Charlie Brown finally got himself a "world famous superstar" for his woebegone baseball team -- none other than Snoopy! Hope this means they'll win a few games! Snoopy was one of the most inventive and imaginative characters in all of comics, and the way he conveyed his flights of fancy through thought balloons shows the sheer genius of Charles Schulz. Little wonder that the strip ended when he retired (and passed away shortly after) -- no one could fill Schulz's shoes! Baseball-themed Peanuts dailies are always a hot property; add Snoopy to the mix and you have a first class example of one of the greatest newspaper comic strips ever. The art is in ink and graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 27" x 5.5", matted and framed with glass for an overall size of 34.5" x 13". Other than a few unobtrusive dark specks and the usual crease between panels two and three, the art is in Excellent condition.
