Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-22-66 (United Feature Syndicate, 1966). Charlie Brown has been chosen for the school's Safety Patrol, but that honor doesn't make him stop worrying about things, in this rainy day installment from a storyline that has him trying his best to impress the Little Red Haired Girl. She was supposed to work with our hero on a science project, but naturally, she had no clue who Charlie Brown was, and she completed her project with someone else. That "wump" in the final panel was revealed to be a car bumping into Charlie Brown in the next day's strip, but don't worry, he made it through just fine. The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 27" x 5.5". There are a couple of stains along the left edge outer border, and a fold crease that runs in the gutter between the second and third panels, but the overall art image remains in Very Good condition. Schulz has inscribed the piece "To Kay with friendship" and signed it "Sparky," a nickname reserved for friends of the artist.
