    Description

Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge #62 Story Page 15 Original Art (Gold Key, 1966). Only a tiny percentage of Barks' comic book output survives, as the majority was destroyed by the publisher. Upon Barks' retirement he was given a few stories as a present by Western Publishing, among them "Queen of the Wild Dog Pack," the story that included this page. It featured kangaroos, dingoes, indigenous Duck people, and a monster "Wild Girl". To make a gag work in the story, Barks drew the Wild Girl with human feet, although the rest of her appeared as any monster Duck would in the series. This page features Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck, and the three nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The page was rendered in ink over graphite on two sections of Bristol board with a combined image area of 16" x 23.25", making it considerably larger than even the "twice-up" pages Silver Age collectors are used to! Signed by Barks in the lower margin. Plexiglas front framed to 26" x 33". In Excellent condition.
