    Description

Brant Parker and Johnny Hart The Wizard of Id Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-28-66 (Publishers Newspaper Syndicate, 1966). Parker and Hart represented a New Wave of radical, iconoclastic humor during the 1950s and '60s. Their irreverence not only captured a mass audience -- but also enabled the partners to ace the Reuben Awards of the National Cartoonists Society (the award is named after comics pioneer Rube Goldberg). The Wizard of Id, a spinoff of Hart's caveman-comedy strip B.C., involves a crackpot Camelot run by goofballs. Here, the Princess talks to the King about the atrociousness of war. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 17.5" x 5.5". In Excellent condition, with light edge toning. Signed by both Parker and Hart in the bottom margin.
