    Description

Bob Powell Race for the Moon #1 Story Page 2 Original Art (Harvey, 1958). From the story "Disc Jockey", Powell's richly caricatured art makes this page a satiric delight -- as much a lampoon of the radio industry's disk-jockey personalities, as it is a science-fiction piece. Here, an obnoxious deejay witnesses a flying-saucer landing and reports it live on the air. Splendidly composed page, with lovely spotting of black areas and white-paint highlighting. Rendered at twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18". The toned board has whiteout corrections with light staining and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
