Bill Elder Mad #3 Complete 8-Page Story "Dragged Net!" Original Art (EC, 1953). Whether you know him as Bill Elder, Will Elder, or even "Sergeant" Elder (as he signed this piece), there is no doubt that he was one of the Maddest of the Mad-men! And with Harvey Kurtzman providing the story, you know this parody of the radio series Dragnet is going to be arresting. (Someone should have been arrested, that's for sure.) In fact, it was so funny, that the team produced a second Dragnet parody, this time parodying the popular TV series, with the same story title "Dragged Net!" in issue #11. That's just the facts, Ma'am. You could lose a lot of time going over every panel in this story, as Elder hid a joke somewhere in almost every background. Classic Mad in every sense of the phrase, as rendered twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". Page one is toned, with some handling wear, and the rest of the pages are less-toned. There are some text correction paste-ups (some missing), with glue residue near them. Overall, the pages are in Very Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: Correction in catalog description. This was a parody of the radio series "Dragnet" not the television series, which was later parodied itself in MAD #11.
