Bernie Wrightson House of Secrets #92 Swamp Thing Origin Story Page 3 Original Art (DC, 1971). A key page straight out of the original Swamp Thing's origin, this is the page where Alex Olsen dies! (...later to be resurrected as the walking pile of swamp vegetation known as the Swamp Thing.) Alex Olsen, you say? Not Alec Holland? No, Olsen is correct. This is the first appearance of Swamp Thing set in the early 20th Century, before he got his own title. The same creative team reintroduced the new version of Swamp Thing set in the then-current 1972. In 1985, writer Alan Moore explained in Saga of the Swamp Thing #33 that there had been previous versions of Swamp Thing, of which Alex Olsen had been one. So this story ties directly into regular DCU continuity. Rarely does a page this important to a character's origin come to market! Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The page is lightly toned, with a bit of production tape on the "continued..." paste-up; otherwise, in Excellent condition.
