    Description

Barry Smith Marvel Comics Presents #78 Splash Page 4 Original Art (Marvel, 1991). From "Weapon X: Chapter Six," this uncanny splash page features a surprisingly calm Wolverine wired up and ready for testing. You know things are going to go bad from here, right? By 1991, Wolverine had made so many guest appearances in virtually every Marvel comic that he was starting to lose some of his cachet. This 13-part story line, with astounding artwork by Barry Windsor-Smith, re-established his position in the Marvel Universe as the bad-boy good guy. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". Very slight tanning and wear, in Excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
