Arthur Adams and Al Williamson Classic X-Men #13 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1987). Art Adams built a following with his work on Marvel's mutants, including X-Men and the fan-favorite Longshot miniseries. When Marvel created a new series reprinting the issues featuring the "new" X-Men, Adams was tapped to provide the cover art, which he did for most of the first 23 issues from 1986-1988. In this cover re-imaging the events of The X-Men #105, Phoenix gets attacked by Firelord, a former Herald of Galactus. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Slight toning, logo and header paste-ups on an acetate overlay taped at the top, with light handling wear. Signed by the art team in the image area, as well as Adams and Stan Lee in the bottom margin. In Excellent condition.
