Art Spiegelman The Tiajuana Bible Revival Volume One: Hot Nuts Cover Original Art (Blue Balls, Pa: Penetrating Pubs. Inc., 1976). Going to the races may never seem the same after seeing this wacky cover art! Mutt and Jeff, Snuffy Smith, Barney Google with Spark Plug, and Moon Mullins all star in this wild tribute to the old "under the counter" dirty comics booklets commonly called Tijuana Bibles (incorrectly spelled "Tiajuana" here), with art by Pulitzer Prize winner Art Spiegelman. This cover is reproduced on page 10 of Co-Mix: A Retrospective of Comics, Graphics, and Scraps (2013). The artwork is in ink and Pantone color film on paper, with an approximate image area of 13.5" x 9.5". The art is matted with a protective acetate overlay, for an overall size of 17" x 13". Excellent condition. Signed and dated "Al Floogleman 1976" in the lower right corner.Auction Info
