Description

Alfredo Alcala Man-Thing & Zombie Illustration Original Art (1976). Alcala drops his familiar style of woodcut-like inking to render a delicately colored confrontation between two of Marvel Comics' more significant horror characters -- the Man-Thing and Simon Garth, the Zombie. The Man-Thing figure appears unusually gaunt and lithe, as compared with its more familiar bulky aspect in the comic-book stories. The figures seem almost to writhe in slow-motion. Ink and Design Markers over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 9.5" x 12". Moderate age-toning and marginal smudging. Very Good condition.
