Alfredo Alcala - Fantasy Female Pin-Up Original Art (1977). Alfredo Alcala dishes up a rather risque slice of "good girl" cheesecake in this ink on paper pin-up. Alfredo burst onto the U. S. comics scene with his work for DC's Unexpected #138, in 1972. As noted by comics historian David Roach, it was Alfredo's inks over John Buscema on "Black Colossus" in Savage Sword of Conan #2, that launched Alcala on the road to comics' superstardom. Alcala is considered the most prolific comic book illustrator in the Philippines, and was also one of their finest. In Excellent condition, the image area of this drawing is 11" x 14". From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini. Richard says: "For a while in the 1970s, much excellent work was being produced by a number of artists from the Philippines, and I was determined to have samples of as many artists' styles as I could find.
