Description

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (Paramount, 1957). Three Sheet (41" X 81"). This was the definitive version of the famous western legend with Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp and Kirk Douglas as Doc Holliday, until 1993's "Tombstone" and 1994's "Wyatt Earp". The story of this gunfight has been the subject of myth and controversy for over a hundred years. Director Allan Dwan did a version in 1939 that was disputed by Wyatt Earp's widow as to authenticity. Director John Ford did a version in 1946 and claimed that years earlier Earp had advised him as to the how the real events unfurled. John Sturges directed this version from a script by Leon Uris, which though highly fictional, recounted the battle between the Earps and the Clantons with tremendous drama and great action sequences.Very Good+ /Unrestored.
