    Description

Philadelphia Story, The (MGM, 1940). (2) Lobby Cards (11" X 14"). Katherine Hepburn was on the run from Hollywood, being labeled "box-office poison" and began a stay in New York theater when playwriter Phillip Barry presented her with a vehicle written just for her. She tried it out on Broadway and brought it to Hollywood. She sold it to Louis B.Mayer for a quarter of a million dollars and retained the right to choose her own co-stars, who were Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. She deferred all salary in exchange for a 40% share in all the profits. That vehicle was this landmark film. Offered here are two of the best cards from set. Fine+.
