    Description

Mary Pickford Personality Poster (United Artists, 1919). Jumbo Card (22" X 24"). When studios owned theatre chains, they would distribute "personality portraits" to their theatres. This would advertise their stars under contract and let audiences know that this was theatre they could regularly see their favorite stars. While this portrait doesn't advertise United Artists, it was more than likely distributed by them, as Ms. Pickford was one of the founding members of the studio in 1919, and a major star of the era. Fine.
