    Description

Awful Truth (Columbia, 1937). Window Card (14" X 22"). Legend has it that director Leo McCarey asked Irene Dunne and Cary Grant to improvise much of the dialogue, since no firm script had been developed. Grant was so intimidated by this prospect that he asked to be replaced on the film. McCarey wouldn't let him out of the contract and the rest is history. This film was nominated for six Academy Awards, and to this day, is seen as the film that would solidify the persona, that would become Cary Grant. Very Fine/Paperbacked.
