Description

Silly Symphony (United Artists, 1938). Wynken,Blynken and Nod. 30" X 40". Walt Disney began his "Silly Symphony series in 1929 with the break through cartoon "The Skeleton Dance". Throughout the thirties this series of cartoons were used to give his crew a chance to test new techniques. Greater sophistication in layout, backgrounds and the animation itself along with the recording devices such as the multiplane camera were tried out on this series. This short was released three months after "Snow White" was released and the studio was in a whirlwind of activity due to the success of this feature. According to animator I.Klein, who recalled that there were so many embellishments added to his animation on "Wynken" including multiplane footage, that he did not recognize his own work when it came on the screen. This early silkscreen 30" X 40" is a very rare Disney poster. Fine-/ Rolled.
