    Description

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (Mirage Studios, 1984) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages. One of the highest-graded copies of the first printing of a smoking-hot book, it features the origins and first appearances of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Splinter, and Shredder. This issue had an initial print run of just 3,000 copies, making high-grade copies very scarce in general; this particular copy bears the highest grade assigned to this issue by CGC to date. The wraparound cover is by Kevin Eastman, and the story and interior art are by Eastman and Peter Laird. We were fortunate enough to sell one other 9.8 copy, and later heard from people kicking themselves for not bidding higher. Don't be that guy! Overstreet 2017 NM- 9.2 value = $4,500. CGC census 2/18: 23 in 9.8, none higher. From the 2nd Chance Collection.
