Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 File Copy Signed and Sketched by Kevin Eastman (Mirage Studios, 1984) CGC NM- 9.2 Off-white to white pages. A high-grade copy of the origin and first appearances of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Splinter, and Shredder. The wraparound cover by Kevin Eastman looks fantastic here on this high-grade File Copy. Eastman and Peter Laird wrote the origin story and supplied the interior art for the book. Only 3,000 copies of this issue were printed, reflecting the budget the two boys could raise for their pet project back in 1984. This is currently the #1 book on Overstreet's list of Top 25 Copper Age Comics, and even so we expect this copy to sell for quite a bit more than the Guide value listed below. CGC notes, "'For Ian and Betty With Love! Kevin Eastman' & sketch written on interior cover in pen." Overstreet 2020 NM- 9.2 value = $8,000. CGC census 1/21: 84 in 9.2, 151 higher.
