DescriptionGobbledygook #2 With Eastman and Laird Sketches and Letter of Authenticity (Mirage Studios, 1984) Condition: NM-. Published at the same time as issue #1, this one is no easier to find! Overstreet ranks #2 as the fourth most-valuable Copper Age comic, and while that's an honor in itself, it's safe to say the stated Guide value is far too low, since the only other copy Heritage has ever sold fetched nine times Guide at auction.
While CGC does not certify Gobbledygook, our three in-house graders who examined this copy of #2 graded it NM, NM-, and NM- respectively. The authenticity is vouched for by none other than Kevin Eastman himself, in a letter of authenticity that's included with the lot.
This issue has the same Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ad on the back cover as does #1. Inside, the comic continues Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's Fugitoid story from #1 and includes a few other features including (according to Laird's introduction) the duo's first collaboration from 1981.
This copy also boasts "Turtles" sketches by Eastman and Laird on the inside front cover. Overstreet 2010 NM- 9.2 value = $750.
