Saludos Amigos Original Animation Storyboard (Walt Disney, 1943).Saludos Amigos is the sixth full-length animated feature film from the Walt Disney Studios, released on 8/24/42 in Rio de Janeiro and 2/6/43 in the U.S. It is the first of the six Disney "package films" made during the 1940s, when many members of the production staff were drafted into World War II. The film was popular enough that Walt Disney decided to make The Three Caballeros two years later. The piece in this lot is a storyboard panel from Saludos Amigos and features Jose Carioca playing a concertina from the segment, Aquarela de Brasil. Storyboards are used as a graphic portrayal of how the film will unfold, shot by shot. The storyboard measures 9" x 8" and was rendered in mixed media on animation paper. The image of Jose Carioca measures 5.5" tall. The artwork has tack hole in the corners where it was pinned to the story wall. Age-related toning. Otherwise, Good condition.
