Description
Walter Knott's Model T Ford (1919/20). In 1923, Walter Knott started selling the berries he harvested to the public from a small roadside stand located 22 miles south of Los Angeles on California State Highway 39, later known as Beach Blvd. Cornelia was making candy for extra money while Walter was working. She felt their greatest need was a car, so with her candy money they bought a Model T Ford, which was parked in front of Walter's stand. The parking of this car in front of their Berry Stand is iconic. Here is a 1919/1920 Model T ford that Walter Knott purchased on August 8, 1956 from Robert Newell. Mr. Newell's 1925 Certificate of Ownership is included with the car. This car was bought to display at Ghost Town with a replica of Walter and Cornelia's First Berry Stand, a Ghost Town attraction. The car has been modified with all original Model T Ford parts and a refurbished Model T engine. The top is missing but the bows are included. The car is in running order. Paperwork on this purchase from the Knott's Archives is included in the sale. Car is 11 feet long with a height of 66" and a width of 63". Any Model T Ford connected to Mr. Knott is a sheer piece of California History. The car is sold "as is" with no implied warranty or running condition. Good overall condition.More information about Memorabilia.
