    Walter Knott Photo Print and Brass Award (c. 1960s-70s). Walter Knott (1889 - 1981), the Founder of Knott's Berry Farm and Ghost Town, retired to politics and personal causes he supported after his wife Cordelia passed away. This is a magnificent dye transfer photograph print of Walter Knott, printed on canvas. It hung within the offices while he was living. A brass plate on the frame reads "Walter Knott A Gift from Paul and Elizabeth Wise." At the time, this photo process on canvas was cutting edge. It is framed to 33" x 39" with an inside mat dimension of 23" x 30". Image is fine, slight .5" in tear in upper right corner, nowhere near the image. Also, the top border is loose from the mat and needs to be re-matted. A beautiful portrait of a very important and beloved man. Also in this lot is a magnificent extremely heavy brass "Free Enterprise Man of the Year" award presented to Mr. Knott by the San Fernando Valley Business and Professional Association in 1968, with details on Knott's accomplishments listed on both sides of his portrait. It's a large award measuring 25" x 31", with minor handling and normal age wear. The brass award is on a heavy wood backing. Two Walter Knott pieces in this lot! Good condition.
