Description

Walt's Field Day Employee-Only Program (Walt Disney, 1938). Mickey Mouse first was given pupils by animator Fred Moore for his appearance as "The Sorcerers Apprentice." The first time the public saw Mickey Mouse with pupils was in the theatrical short, "The Pointer." However, the first studio release of Mickey with pupils however was this little known cover for a studio outing called "Walt's Field Day." It was an all studio employee day and evening at Lake Norconian on June 4, 1938. Here is the complete program for this event, with lunch and dinner tickets intact. It includes an introduction to the Disney Studios employees by Walt, as well as an itinerary of the day with who is responsible for each event. Some of the event chairs are Ward Kimball, Ted Sears, and Jack Kinney, to name a few. This is a rare piece of Disney history -- the very first appearance of Mickey Mouse with pupils in his eyes! Good condition with handling wear.
