Walt Disney Signed Letter to Bud Shackleford (1944). Lyne "Bud" Shackleford (1918 - 2005) was a Disney Studio artist in the 1930s. He also was a leading California Watercolor artist. He enlisted during World War II, illustrating training materials for the Army. Bud wrote and illustrated a book about his wartime experiences called As I See It, and he sent a copy to his old employer, Mr. Walt Disney. This is a rare typed letter on Walt Disney stationary dated 2/23/44. The letter talks about the book he received, his time spent in Mexico, and goes into detail about the Disney World War II booklet/newsletter Dispatch from Disney. He writes that it was well-received and that he is trying to get a second edition out. This is significant as that second issue never materialized. The letter is boldly signed WALT from the hand of Walt Disney. A Phil Sears Letter of Authenticity is included with the letter. Important document as to Walt Disney's thoughts during the tough World War II timelines at the studio. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
