Val Mayerik Legend of the Five Rings CCG Tzurui Illustration Original Artwork (1999). Published from 1995 to 2015, Legend of the Five Rings is an out-of-print collectible card game created by Alderac Entertainment Group and ISOMEDIA. It takes place in the fictional East Asian empire of Rokugan, with several clans vying for dominance over the empire. Offered in this lot is the original artwork done for a card from The Dark Journey Home expansion set: Tzurui! This card depicts the character Tzurui, a ronin originally of the Nanbu family before joining the Monkey Clan. This piece was done by artist Val Mayerik, best known as co-creator the Marvel Comics character Howard the Duck. Mayerik has provided artwork for Legend of the Five Rings' spin-off CCG Legend of the Burning Sands, as well as the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This piece is rendered in mixed media and measures 9.25" x 7.125" on an 11.5" x 8.5" board. There is light wear to the edges and corners, with an overall condition of Excellent.
