Three Stooges Trading Cards (Fleer, 1959). Offered here are 25 cards from the difficult-to-locate 1959 Three Stooges Fleer set. This was the very first set of Three Stooges trading cards to be released. Comprised of 96 cards and featuring colorized scenes from their Columbia shorts, each picture had a one-liner, at the bottom, relating to the scene being depicted on the card. On the backs were tidbits of Stooge trivia or humorous quotes, written by Elwood Ullman, one of the Stooges writers. This group contains cards #3 (cards number 1, 2, and 3 feature head shots of Curly, Moe, and Larry, and are the most sought after cards in the series), 4, 7, 8, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 34, 35, 38-40, 51-54, 67-69, 83 (2 copies), 84, and 86. Some cards show very light edge wear and all have fairly sharp corners. There is some very light soiling on the backs of several cards; other than that, the cards are in Excellent condition, showing some original gloss.
