Pokémon "Pikachu" Illustrator Unnumbered Promo CoroCoro Comics CGC Trading Card Game Mint 9 (The Pokémon Company, 1998). Holy Grail Alert! If you're looking to turn your Pokémon collection into the main topic of conversation, then the card offered here is a must-have: the Pikachu Illustrator. What makes this card so valuable, you ask? Well, the only way you could obtain a copy was through an illustration contest publicized in CoroCoro Comics. The Pikachu Illustrator was awarded to the winners of the initial three contests, which took place in 1998. The first contest awarded 23 copies, with the following two awarding 8 copies each for a total of 39 copies distributed. This card is the only card to bear the pen symbol in the bottom right corner and the only card to feature the word "Illustrator" at the top. It cannot be said enough how much of a holy grail the Pikachu Illustrator is, both in and out of the Pokémon Trading Card Game community. The artwork was done by Atsuko Nishida. If you "gotta catch 'em all," then you gotta catch this one... because you may not get another chance! CGC has certified 6 copies earning a Mint 9 grade with 7 graded higher.Auction Info
