Pokémon "Pikachu" Illustrator Unnumbered Promo CoroCoro Comics CGC Trading Card Game Gem Mint 10 (The Pokémon Company, 1998). Holy Grail Alert! If you are looking to turn your Pokémon collection into the main topic of conversation, then the card offered here is a must-have, the Pikachu Illustrator. What makes this card so valuable, you ask? Well, the only way you could obtain a copy was through an illustration contest through CoroCoro Comics. The Pikachu Illustrator was awarded to the winners of the initial three contests; the three contests took place in 1998. The first contest awarded 23 copies, with each of the following awarding 8 copies each; a total of 39 copies were distributed. This card is the only card to bear the pen symbol in the bottom right corner and the only to feature the word "Illustrator" at the top. This card has been certified a CGC Gem Mint 10, the same grade as the famous PSA GEM MT 10 graded copy sold to Logan Paul for a staggering $5,275,000! It cannot be said enough how much of a holy grail the Pikachu Illustrator is both in and outside of the Pokémon Trading Card Game community. The artwork is done by Atsuko Nishida.
