Pokémon Charizard 006 Japanese Topsun PSA Trading Card Game Mint 9 (Topsun, 1995) Holofoil. One of the earliest examples of Pokémon on cards was the Japanese Topsun cards, released as a promotional product to see if people would collect cards with Pokémon on them. I guess we know the answer to that! Offered in this lot is a Topsun card which features the fan-favorite Charizard facing off against Cloyster. This card comes from not the original release of Topsun cards, but a different set which featured anime artwork of two Pokémon in battle. While this set does not have an official name, they are known as Topsun VS or Topsun Battle cards. This specific card comes from VS Series 2, evident by the use of the "Top" label on the back of the card, instead of "Topsun" which Series 1 used. Please note that while this card is labeled as being released in 1995, this specific set was likely released in either 1997 or 1998, evident by the use of the "Top" label.
