Pokémon 2000 World Championship Trophy and Memorabilia Group. Have you ever wanted to become a Pokémon Master? On September 22, 2000 a young man, with the same dream, Darren Van Vuuren, was able to fulfill his life dream and became world champion at the 2000 World Championship in Sydney, Australia. The tournament brought in the current Pokémon Champions from Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, United States, and the United Kingdom. Darren was the UK Pokémon Champion at the time and he proved to be the best trainer among the very best in the world! This lot includes several items from this special moment in Darren's life including the 16" tall trophy that he was awarded. Other items included are the original Pikachu backpack that came with the trophy, Pokémon Championship 2000 tournament medal, 1st place Pokémon Championship 2000 medal, the badge Darren used at the tournament, 2 Pokémon Park 2000 T-shirts, 2 Ash Ketchum Pokémon caps, the cap that Darren used at the tournament with his country's flag, the original poster from the tournament, a Pikachu World Collection folder, the letter from Nintendo inviting Darren to the tournament. As an added bonus, we've included the original Pokémon Blue game that Darren used to level up his Pokémon with a copy that Nintendo made AND the Limited Edition Green and Gold Ozzie Gameboy Color that Darren used personally! But wait there's one more special item! We've also included the Sunday Mirror Pokémon Magazine that features an article about the tournament that shows a picture of Darren as a 16-year old holding several of the items included in this lot.
